I have had a passion and a desire to draw and paint since I was born. I consider an artist statement, for me, to be like an author having to draw a picture of their book! ; )
I have never been natural with talking, story-telling, or writing. With painting I am. Art is a way for me to find my voice. Art connects me with my inner intuition, and power, which celebrates my independence, delight in the world, and the accessibility and necessity of disrupting conventional ideas.
I am inspired by the work of many artists, including Milton Avery, Karin Mamma Anderson, Jules de Balincourt, Horace Pippon, Martin Maloney, Bruno Cote, Bill Traylor, Louise Bourgeois, Frida Kahlo, Leon Golub, Peter Doig, Hernan Bas, Oh de Laval, and Gary Bunt.
